Lead Free Bar Solder

Metallic Resources' lead free bar solders are manufactured from electrolytically processed tin and other elements to create solder so pure it far exceeds most specifications. All common industry accepted alloys are offered as well as other customer preferred variations on the tin/silver and tin/silver/copper combinations (please refer to the Technical Bulletin).

High purity lead free electrolytic solder is specially designed for use in all hot air leveling soldering applications. The solder is environmentally friendly, and generates less dross compared to other "virgin grade" solders. Less dross generation results in more soldered joints per pound of solder consumed and greater cost-effectiveness through less waste. Solder pots using electrolytic solder provide energy savings, extended pot life, reduced thermal stress, and reduced potential of contamination. Lower viscosity improves the fluidity, which in turn improves the solder's wetting capability.

The electrolytic manufacturing process creates a solder that has a more uniform deposition of solder onto the bare board, while at the same time creating a smooth surface. It assures much greater batch-to-batch consistency for predictable solder performance in the solder pot. The process removes metallic and non-metallic impurities often found in both "virgin metals" and reclaimed solders to provide a purer solder. This purity results in a smaller crystalline structure which exhibits a shinier, more brilliant solder appearance.
